We’re excited to announce that work on Ascend Version 3, our next major platform, is underway with an expected release date of Q2 2013. Before then you will see two more major upgrades to Version 2. Version 2.4 will be released next month on June 11th. Click here for a preview of the changes that are included. We’ll preview Version 2.5 at Trek World in August and will release it to everyone on September 17th. After that, all new enhancement work will be done in Version 3.
The biggest change with Version 3 is that it will be hosted in the cloud. This will provide several benefits including:
- Fast & easy feature and fix delivery: When new features and fixes are ready, we’ll be able to release them to everyone at the same time. You won’t have to do your own updates.
- Accessibility: You’ll be able to access Ascend from anywhere with a web browser.
- Centralized Data: Your data will be centrally hosted and backed up for you.
- More time on enhancements: By not having to deploy updates to over 900 locations, we can spend less time worrying about update installers and more time programming enhancements that are important to you.
We know you will have questions about many topics such as speed, reliability security, and data access. Please watch this blog in future weeks for answers to your questions and for project updates.
Please note that Version 1 will no longer be supported once Version 3 is released. Before you can upgrade to V3, you will need to be on Version 2 first. So if you’re part of the small group that hasn’t yet upgraded, you should start planning a time to get this done. Consult our upgrade guide for full details on the process.
We look forward to working with you on this project!

Absolutely cool. Can’t wait. I’ll never stop working
